I’m thinking about starting my own business that designs houses. Any ideas on how to do this? What degrees would I need?
I would like to create a business that designs houses (both with architecture and interior design). I was wondering what my first steps to making this happen should be. Also what classes I should take in college, good colleges etc. etc.

You would need an engineering degree.

I’m getting my bfa in interior design in chicago, I want to know where I can make good money when I graduate

New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, pretty much any major metropolitan city.

Or would painters be able to tell me what will look good? I’m planning on hiring somebody to do the painting anyways. It is way too much of a hassle for me. If you hire an interior designer – do they have somebody do the painting for you? I’m just clueless on what to do for my living, dining, and bed rooms.
I know how to paint, I painted the bedrooms myself before. I just refuse to do it again. It’s too much work for me.

I want to study Fashion Design after I complete my high school upgrading-finishing. Can I just take math 14 and math 24, or do I need math pure 30? And what about if someone (my friend) wants to study interior design and decorating, does she need math 14 and 24 OR does she need math pure 30?

We need to know the prerequisites for these careers!

Every high school and college gives different numbers to their courses, so we have no idea what courses you’re talking about – basic algebra? Advanced calculus? You really just need to ask an academic adviser at the school, we can’t help you.

I thought of Vehicle Cosmetologist but that’s an overstatement.
Then I thought of Vehicle Hygienist. Anyone have any better ideas?

Professional Auto Detailer or Auto Detailer – don’t get too cute or you will sound idiotic.

In Subiaco there’s a place called HomeBase or something (it’s right behind the Subi Markets (the fruit and veg one) I think) where you could maybe offer to do a course.

If you’re still friends with your lecturers/tutors, you could ask whether you can come in to give a talk about it.

Spread the word of mouth that you have an interior design business amongst your friends. Go to those networking things they have and mix with people.

The SBDC might also be able to help. I’m not sure how old you are, but they have a SBDC for young entrepreneurs as well.

Do you have a website so when people look up interior design in Perth (or where ever you are in WA) easily? Have you also tried to advertise your site like on Google Pay Per Click or something? There’s a great local business here in Perth that does that kind of internet marketing stuff called ineedhits – www.ineedhits.com. Their offices are in Perth some where.

I want to find a free website that lets you design the interior of houses. Weather that means floor plans, or decorating, anything like that would work.
