Where would you suggest promoting my home based business? I am a decorating consultant with Home interiors and gifts trying to book brochure parties and fundraisers. I am just trying to figure the best place to promote for very inexpensive. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am an Army Wife and loking into doing parties to sell things such as home interior ,avon, tupperware etc. But what other companies hold parties like that, its hard for me to get a regular job because we move around the world so much, and I thought this would be a good thing to look into.

I like Barefoot books..

It may also pay to take a look at your own personal skills and assets you may be able to start your own business.
sounds awful but i started a "Let me pick up where your dog drops off" with less than $50.00
Trash can on wheels, gloves, poop scooper(first ones I carved out of old tide bottles.)
Flyer’s with tear away contact number.
one time or scheduled once twice a week at $25.00 a shot.
check with your locale dog poo disposal requirements.
I did not haul away at first.

Think Cafe Press tooo

Oh well just wanted to offer inspiration…….

I listed a few companies,articles,and support pages.

I really love this candle I have. It is the brand home interiors and the scent is Hot Cinnamon Buns. It is almost finished and I’m not sure where I initially bought it. Does anyone know where you can buy these candles that is not online?

Thank you

Home interiors went out of business so you will probably have a difficult time finding any of their products.

If you can’t find anyone that has Home Interiors candles and are looking for a really good Cinnamon Bun scented candle I would recommend the Cinnamon Raisin Bun scent made by Scent-sations.

Good luck!

Is this IT!?!

I sold Home interiors 2 years ago and I got out of it because my sales weren’t high enough to place an order every Monday. Well, now I’ve learned they’ve changed it and I’m interested in signing up again. But, before I do, I’d like to read the contract and learn the rules again. I’d also like to know how much it is to have a website. Can anyone help me with this? I know I can contact my old unit leader (I sell avon, I’m not sure about HI lingo anymore) but I don’t want her harassing me about signing up again. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Hi I know someone who sells it I can call her and find out for you. If you don’t get a response email me so I don’t forget to get back to you.

I love these parties as a social gathering and a great way to break the ice with new friends but some people I know have them constantly. Is it really so rude to go to a MK party without buying something?

Remember the good old days when we had those parties just for the fun of putting on makeup with your friends? Now I feel like if I don’t buy $20 minimum I’m insulting the hostess?

These things have gotten way out of hand.

Agreeing to to go to one of these shindigs does not oblige you to spend money, just for the sake of spending it. The lower cost items at these things are expensive, and the price goes up from there.

It’s more than feasible that attendees may have a decent stock of the items and not need something, or they don’t see something they like, or something at a price they feel comfortable paying.

If these parties come with the rider that attending equals a purchase, I would decline the invitation.

I want to sell it but dont know if it is worth it or not

I did sell Home interiors for about 4 years. I made decent money on it, but all in all I would not do it over again. You have to carry around big heavy bulky items (pictures, sconces, etc) and make up the groupings. The more you have the more you sell. And you do have to pay for hostess items, etc. I have been in Direct sales for apprx 15 years and 4 of those were with home interiors. I am now with Lia Sophia Jewelry and I absolutely love it and wish I had found it sooner. What women doesn’t like jewelry? And all the jewelry is guaranteed for life, even though it is high quality fashion jewelry. All hostess benefits are paid for by the company, there is huge customer support and backing from the company, all deliveries are from the company direct to the hostess so no deliveries and we do not have to keep inventory. I make a great commission, earn trips, rewards, incentives, and lots more. There are no big heavy/bulky items to carry – one carrying case holds all the jewelry and that is supplied by the company in your kit. If this sounds like something you might be interested in doing, please check out my website at http://www.liasophia.com/ringsandthings and then contact me for more info or with any questions. I guarantee you will love this company and for Sept I am offering a kit rebate also, which is explained on my site. I would love to discuss this with you further.

My husband and I were looking to build a log home, but only if we can have a somewhat modern/contemporary look for the interior. Neither one of us are really into the primitive or Americana decor, but we do like the look of the lighter log home interiors like this one:

Anyone know of any log home interior pictures that have a modern look?

Depends on the time of the year. Right now is the perfect time to shop for outdoor things, lighting, garden items, whimsical things I’ll enjoy when I’m out in the yard. In the winter I prefer to buy things that make my home a more comfortable, relaxed place to be in.
