do painters use flat paint or a glossy paint on kitchen ceilings? Is either one acceptable to use? Is it ok to use flat? Would it be a negative when you go to sell?

You can paint it however you want, don’t worry. Remember that if it is a more uneven surface, the glossy paint will highlight it. Whether that’s good or bad is up to you. If it is a sprayed or ‘popcorn’ ceiling just use flat. You can scrape off the popcorn otherwise. It is easy, but very messy. Good luck.

This is the case-
Young family with two preschool children.Family life style is casual. The room is where the family gathers to watch TV and the children play.It is a small house. Both parents are employed, but only one has a college degree. The family enjoy nature and the outdoors.
How would you decorate this room?
What kind of paint, carpeting or furniture would it have?

Thanks!

Comfortable and somewhat put together. Neutral Walls like a light Taupe. White ceiling. Natural colored sofa, Wood entertainment center, Maybe like an Oak color. I would also throw in a brick fireplace. Decorate with pictures of the family. A coffee table that has drawers to store coloring books and the supplies for the children. Also,
I would put a toy box in there. Where pre-schoolers go, there will be toys.

I saw a magazine at home depot months ago i think the name had the word trend in the title, has anyone heard of this magazine? It is a contemporary/modern theme magazine and I want to look up there website. also do you know of any good contemporary websites I need some ideas for decorating. Thanks

They have many magazines that are like that. Each Home Depot should have a display rack of them. I’ll check again when I work tomorrow because I think I know which one your talking about.

I am looking for a forum or message board for ideas on how to decorate my new home (colors etc).

I went to some magazine sights, but could not find the forums (if they had 1). Anybody know of a good, active sight with a forum?
Thanks in advance.

i know a website where you can design your own room with tons of different layouts, paint, furniture, artwork, etc and people can rate and respond to them and you can view others to get ideas also

interior decorating!!!?

18.October, 2009

what are some good places to apply to for somebody who is going to school for interior decorating?

Maybe Parsons?
and it’s "interior design."
not "inferior desecrating."

We are trying to decorate our den with a wildlife theme (deer, turkey, fish). I have checked the HGTV website along with other websites and haven’t had any luck. Any ideas?

Cabela’s has all kinds of wildlife items for the home.

Is there a site where i upload digital photos of my living room and the site can give me some ideas on how it would look. If theres not a website like this than I call dibs.

You need maths particularly things like geometry and the basics division etc. Any kind of business classes and an art class so you can learn the basics of colour, light and design. Do they still have sewing? When you first start out you are going to need that.
