In the interior decorating trade, do kitchen ceilings have variety of paint finish choices?

do painters use flat paint or a glossy paint on kitchen ceilings? Is either one acceptable to use? Is it ok to use flat? Would it be a negative when you go to sell?
You can paint it however you want, don’t worry. Remember that if it is a more uneven surface, the glossy paint will highlight it. Whether that’s good or bad is up to you. If it is a sprayed or ‘popcorn’ ceiling just use flat. You can scrape off the popcorn otherwise. It is easy, but very messy. Good luck.

Use flat. It will highlight the lighting in the room and the colors of the room. Try painting it a light color or a neutral.

It really does not matter….we use both….tell the contractor what color you want, how much you want to spend and a time table and they will do the rest. If your doing it yourself fill in any holes or cracks with durabond…let it dry, sand it down and start painting.
