pictures of the interiors of old houses with original tongue and groove walls?

i have an old farm house that i have taken the wallpaper of the walls and the walls underneath are tongue and groove wood. the house is about 150 years old. any ideas or pics of ways to refinish the wood would be great: )

I am unable to sand and stain the walls because there is some old damage that will have to have putty. The walls will have to be painted.Was just wondering if there are any cons to leaving the walls this way and if anybody has painted them with good results.

Just sand it and varnish it. maybe stain it also
